Competition organiser, Malcolm Reading, commented;
‘We had a great response to the competitions from both UK and international designers.
‘We asked for interesting collaborations and we got them. This is definitely a new trend in design – part of a wider intellectual movement that sees the value in putting different disciplines together in order to create fertile and intriguing partnerships.
‘The north park list features exciting emerging talents from the UK, whilst the south park list brings together some significant design heavyweights from across the globe.’
The short-listed teams will be invited to submit a concept design in November which will be judged by an expert panel. The winner will be announced by the end of the year.
